The Fanatics Jerseys Aren’t The Worst Part Of The New MLB Uniforms; The Pants Are See-Through!

It turns out that the awful new jerseys aren’t even the worst part of Major League Baseball’s new uniforms because the pants are see-through!

That’s right. Fanatics is apparently off the hook thanks to Nike’s new see-through MLB uniform pants. (Okay, no they’re not. They’re definitely not.)

Take a look at Seattle Mariners catcher Cal Raleigh in a video posted to the team’s X account on Tuesday.

The reason why these see-through pants are just now making news is reportedly because up until now players were wearing last year’s pants.

“You can tell because the old pants don’t have the diagonally cut belt tunnels — instead, they have two belt loops on each side of the buckle,” Paul Lukas of UniWatch wrote on Wednesday.

Lukas also asked, “What was the team’s social media team thinking when they posted that video? Could they really not see the problem with the pants?”

Guess not.

It’s not just the Mariners’ pants either as evidenced by the photo of Shohei Ohtani and Yoshinobu Yamamoto in their new Los Angeles Dodgers uniforms can attest (photo above).

This same thing happened back in 2012, according to Lukas, when Nike introduced a new uniform template for the NFL.

He also reminds us of the time when Nike came out with new NBA jerseys in 2017 that were tearing like tissue paper.

The complaints by Major League Baseball players about these new uniforms have already made their way to the Major League Baseball Players Association.

“We are on the phone with the requisite parties that are involved in making that decision because we aren’t,” MLBPA executive director Tony Clark told The Athletic this week. “We’re trying to make sure our guys have what they need in the fashion that they need it. And it’s reflective of what being a major-league ballplayer should be reflective of.”

Basically, in the words of Philadelphia Phillies shortstop Trea Turner, “Everyone hates them.”
