The Detroit Pistons arguably got the coaching coup of the NBA offseason when they hired former Suns coach Monty Williams. Williams, the 2021-2022 NBA Coach of the Year is considered one of the best coaches in the league.

And, the Detroit Pistons certainly need a good coach. The franchise hasn’t won a playoff series since 2008, and their best season in that time frame was just a 44-38 record back in 2015-2016, with just one other winning season.

But, they’ve got the pieces of a good young core. 2021 first-overall pick Cade Cunningham leads a core that includes 2020 second-overall pick James Wiseman, 2018 second-overall pick Marvin Bagley, 2022 fifth-overall pick Jaden Ivey, and young players that could be good role guys like Saddiq Bey, Jalen Duren, Killian Hayes, and Isaiah Stewart.

And, in this year’s NBA Draft, they added two promising backcourt players in Ausar Thompson and Marcus Sasser. Both players have been impressing in the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas, and they were great once again in their win over the Spurs, 79-73. Thompson was especially great, with 18 points and 14 rebounds. And, after the game, Monty Williams was so enthralled that he suggested he wants them to date his daughter.

Monty Williams has two daughters, Faith and Janna, with his first wife, Ingrid. Ingrid tragically died in a car accident back in 2016 in a car crash.

And, it sounds like if Monty Williams, has his way, they will each be dating a Pistons player soon.
