Motel 6 prices in Tuscaloosa are absurd
A lot is happening in Tuscualoosa this weekend, and hotel prices are through the roof.
Not only is the President coming to town for the Georgia-Alabama game, but a hurricane will also make landfall.
Apparently, the worst of the storm will happen in the morning before the game, and the game will not be moved.
“Alabama Athletics continues to closely monitor the weather forecast ahead of Saturday’s football game, with the safety and well-being of the student-athletes, coaches, staff and fans as our highest priority. We remain in close communication with the National Weather Service, the Southeastern Conference Office and the University of Georgia as we observe conditions,” Alabama wrote in an statement.
“At this time, kickoff remains scheduled for 6:30 p.m. CT Saturday. We continue to encourage fans to rely on official Alabama Athletics and SEC channels for the latest information regarding Saturday’s game.”
Unfortunately, fans heading to the game will have to pay an exorbitant amount just to stay in the area overnight.
Earlier this week, Fox Sports’ Trey Wallace revealed that even Motel 6 is charging over $800/night for a room in Tuscaloosa.
Alright, $880 per night at the Motel 6 in Tuscaloosa for game weekend between Georgia and Alabama.
We’ll have to see about these amenities, and if “free beer” comes with the room… https://t.co/e28G1yscCX

Wallace claims hotel prices were high even before the storm.
@DanWolken @ScottStras It’s pretty wild man, and it was like this before Hurricane started actually forming. Whole bunch of things going on in the area, and prices are wild
