Multiple witnesses the South Downs national park in the United Kingdom claim to have had frightening encounters with what they have described as a growling bipedal Bigfoot-like creature.
“I felt incredibly on edge and it was a feeling I can honestly say I had never experienced before or since,” said one witness, Mike Brown. “It really was as if something was watching me and I was not welcome.”
Witnesses also have reported that the Bigfoot often escapes down a “dangerous” slope where “no human” would dare traverse, according to the Daily Star.
Brown continued, “I think though the most standout thing is the terrain being covered in the dark, it sounds dangerous enough to attempt in the daylight let alone in the dark! When you can’t see any obvious signs of torchlight, that’s the really scary part because no human could do it without suffering injury.”
His Bigfoot encounter and others in the South Downs were shared by the BBR Cryptid and Paranormal Investigations group on Facebook.
Another UK Bigfoot witness, Michael Brindle, reported that while fishing one day he “was dozing on my chair next to the rods when I was woken by a loud growl from the opposite bank” and saw “something large running on what I think was two legs on the opposite bank in the darkness.”
Last year, a man named Lee Brickley claimed to have found Bigfoot tracks and claw marks after a decade searching for the creature in Cannock Chase in Staffordshire, England.
“I was astounded… I’d never seen a footprint that large in my life, and it was clearly not made using a mold or cast. That is probably the moment I realized the Cannock Chase Bigfoot was more than just a myth,” he said, according to the Mirror.
Brickley, who recently published a book on Bigfoot, also claims to have seen the creature while doing research, “I can’t say for sure what it was, as it was around 7 pm and getting dark and the figure was covered in shadow. It definitely moved more like an animal than a man, and it was easily seven feet tall.
“I tried to run after it, but it was too quick and disappeared into a dense section of trees.”
