Chicago Sky point guard Natasha Cloud explained why she confronted Enes Kanter Freedom during the Indiana Fever vs. Chicago Sky game on Sunday. Kanter was ejected from the game due to his altercation with Cloud.
In a post on Threads following the incident, Natasha Cloud made it clear what her motivation was, as she shared a statement on Threads saying she will “always protect” the trans community.

“To every trans kid/person, You are apart of MY community & tribe. You belong. You’re loved. You’re seen. You’re perfect as you are. & you will always be protected by me,” Cloud wrote on social media.

Kanter was seated courtside during Sunday’s Fever-Sky game wearing a T-shirt that read “WOMAN noun adult human female” as part of his ongoing grift regarding transgender athletes. In recent weeks, Kanter has claimed he identifies as a woman and attempted to declare for the 2027 WNBA Draft.
The confrontation unfolded late in the third quarter when Cloud scored and approached Kanter at courtside. Security intervened and removed Kanter from the building, with the former NBA center subsequently describing the ejection as being thrown out for “supporting women” and claiming that Cloud told him Sophie Cunningham isn’t going to sleep with him.
“I am a woman. I should be allowed to play. Article 13, Section 1 says if you identify as a woman, then you are allowed to play. I identify as a woman, so yes I can play,” Kanter told Laura Ingraham on Fox News on Monday night.
Cloud has been one of the more outspoken WNBA players on LGBTQ issues throughout her career — she has previously used her platform to advocate for trans inclusion and has been vocal about the politicization of the league’s 2026 season.
