After spending his entire 9-year career in the idyllic Los Angeles weather sipping martinis with the Jenner sisters, Blake Griffin has officially landed in Detroit (where it is currently 40 degrees) to join a franchise that hasn’t won a playoff game in a decade. Upon hearing that he will have to trade his L.A. comedy club stages in for the freestyle battle stage of The Shelter at 8 Mile, Griffin needed to be physically restrained from Clippers coach Doc Rivers.
The city of Detroit is in desperate need of a star with a little pizazz, and Griffin will supply it just that–his 22.6 ppg average this season is the most for a Pistons player since Jerry Stackhouse averaged 29.8 PPG in 2000-01.
Griffin participated in a press conference today where he did his best ‘I’m happy to be here’ impression.
Here are some of the finest reactions to fans seeing Blake in a different team’s jersey for the first time ever.
