Mr. McMahon, a new documentary series chronicling the rise and fall of the WWE founder Vince McMahon, is coming to Netflix in September, the company announced on Thursday.

According to Deadline, the six-episode documentary series on Vince McMahon will premiere on Netflix on September 25th.

Described as “an unflinching, no-holds-barred look at one of the most enigmatic figures in sports entertainment,” the documentary follows McMahon from his transformation of the WWE from a small, regional business into a global entertainment powerhouse to the explosive sexual misconduct allegations that led to his eventual resignation.

Mr. McMahon will be directed and executive produced by Chris Smith, the man behind one of Netflix’s biggest hit documentary series, Tiger King. Bill Simmons of 30 for 30 fame and and Zara Duffy are also executive producers.

“Including interviews with McMahon prior to his resignation, his family, and some of the most iconic names in wrestling history. As well as the journalists who uncovered McMahon’s allegations,” Netflix wrote in an announcement on X (Twitter).

Netflix says the documentary series, which will be made up of hour long episodes, was created from over 200 hours of interviews with McMahon himself, his family members, business associates and some of the biggest names in professional wrestling history.

“The goal behind Mr. McMahon was to pull back the curtain and reveal the true Vince McMahon, obscured beneath the persona he presented to the world,” said Chris Smith. “Over the four years of production, the story evolved in truly shocking ways, culminating in some extremely harrowing allegations. The final product is a revealing documentary that we believe offers a rich and nuanced portrait of the man and the complex legacy he left behind.”

The timing of the tell-all documentary series is unusual in that Netflix just signed a 10-year, $5 billion deal to air WWE’s flagship show Monday Night Raw beginning in January 2025.
