The Jets Have Done The Thing That All Teams Do When They’re On The Verge Of Falling Apart

Following the release of running back Michael Carter earlier this week, the New York Jets did what most teams do when they’re on the verge of falling apart: they held a players-only meeting.

According to wide receiver Garrett Wilson, who was speaking on the Bart & Hahn Show, the team held a players-only meeting to discuss how to get out of the “funk” the team is in.

At the time of this writing, the Jets offense hasn’t scored a touchdown in 11 quarters of football, which is 2.5 games.

“The guys talked, and we had the floor,” Wilson said.

“It was just us. We got to make sure we’re all on the same page about where we’re at and how the hell we get out of this funk, man. That was really the message. When it comes from one of your teammates, it always hits different. It always resonates a little bit more.”

The Jets have now lost two straight games to the Los Angeles Chargers and Las Vegas Raiders, dropping their record to 4-5, which puts them in a difficult position in the crowded AFC Wild Card race.

This weekend, the Jets will be taking on the Buffalo Bills, who will surely be looking to rebound following their home loss to the Denver Broncos and the firing of offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey.

In their final eight games of the season, the Jets will be taking on the Bills, Miami Dolphins (twice), Atlanta Falcons, Houston Texans, Washington Commanders, Cleveland Browns, and New England Patriots.

Speaking to NBC on Sunday, injured quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who is currently recovering from an Achilles injury, says he plans on returning to the field in mid-December. If the Jets are firmly out of the playoff race by then, however, it’ll be interesting to see what Rodgers ultimately decides to do.
