The New York Mets May Have Just Jinxed Themselves After Committing Premature Celebration Fail

With a 3-0 lead over the Chicago Cubs in the NLCS, the New York Mets are just one win away from reaching the World Series for the first time since 2000 and representing the National League in the Fall Classic. But, could they have just jinxed themselves with this latest premature celebration on their website?

Per The New York Daily News, the Mets made the classic mistake of tooting their own horn a bit too fast, when, this afternoon, the team’s website was promoting NL Champs t-shirts for fans to buy—which, of course, isn’t quite the case yet, if at all.

According to ESPN, team spokesman Jay Horwitz called the display a “glitch,” but could this be the baseball gods’ chance to turn their attention on the Mets and no longer the Cubs for a historic comeback? Probably not—after all, these are the Cubbies—but Chicago fans can hope this is the break they needed to kickstart an epic turnaround in the series. After all, crazy shit happens in sports for no reasons.
