Nick Bosa tweeted for the first time in four years to weigh in on Ryan Clark being laid off
San Francisco 49ers defensive end Nick Bosa hasn’t tweeted for four years. Longtime NFL analyst Ryan Clark getting let go by ESPN, however, was enough to prompt a return to the social media platform.
A few days after it was reported that Ryan Clark was one of a handful of ESPN talents being laid off by the network, Nick Bosa posted his first tweet since 2022 to clown on Clark over thew news.
Bosa posted a single 👌 emoji while quote-tweeting the report from The Athletic about ESPN parting ways with the former Pittsburgh Steelers safety, who had been with the network since 2016 and appeared on programs such as NFL Live, SportsCenter, First Take and Get Up!.

In addition to Clark, on-air personalities such as Karl Ravech, Cam Newton, Tom Pelissero, Stephania Bell, David Lloyd, Bart Scott, and more were also laid off. Clark’s dismissal, however, has gotten the most attention in the larger sports media landscape.

The history between the pair goes back to October 2024, when Clark called out Bosa on The Pivot podcast for wearing a MAGA hat after the 49ers beat the Dallas Cowboys on October 27, 2024.
“It seems very clear to me Nick Bosa understands that when you wear that hat, you take a side,” Clark said on The Pivot podcast in 2024.
“You take a side of division in a sport that’s supposed to bring us together. I’m just waiting for all the people who comment under political and sports things to ‘shut up and dribble’ or to ‘shut up and play football,’ to tell him to shut up and rush. But they ain’t going to say it because they feel the exact same way he does.”

My hope is as this door closes another opens for you all. God bless!” Clark posted on social media the day after he was laid off, which he was reportedly made aware of while filming NFL Live.
Clark’s The Pivot podcast has over 1.4 million subscribers on YouTube and over 675,000 followers on Instagram. He also hosts Inside The NFL, which moved to The CW in 2023 and, as of last year, became an original series on X/Twitter.
