If you’ve been paying attention to baseball in recent years, then you know — ever since he was at-bat while former Cincinnati Reds announcer Thom Brennaman was giving an apology for using a homophobic slur — Nick Castellanos has a bizarre penchant for making big plays during noteworthy moments.

Nick Castellanos has made such a habit of doing so that entire lists detailing the moments have been compiled, which include:

Castellanos was up to his old trick on Tuesday, September 10 as he got hit by a pitch, sparking a bench-clearing brawl, DURING the crucial Presidential debate between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President and 34-time convicted felon Donald Trump.

The Phillies, who lead the National League East and have the best record in MLB (at the time of this writing), ultimately beat the Rays by a score of 9-4. Castellanos went 0-4 at the plate during the game.

Castellanos, a 32-year-old outfielder and third baseman, made his MLB debut with the Detroit Tigers in 2013 after the team drafted him in the 2nd round of the 2010 MLB Draft. Castellanos would then go on to play with the Chicago Cubs and Cincinnati Reds before landing with the Phillies in 2022.
