There isn’t a more polarizing figure in college football than Alabama Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban who, thanks to his three titles in Tuscaloosa, happens to be the most prominent figure in the football program’s history since Bear Bryant.
Beloved as all fuck in T-Town, you better believe that people will bend over and let Lord Saban do just about anything he wants to—and that’s what Mercedes-Benz may have just done here.
The German car company just announced that 15 Nick Saban Signature Series Mercedes Sprinters’ are going to be made this year, meaning a few Bama fans will have the ideal tailgating vehicle—but it’s going to cost them.
The vans, which accommodates nine passengers, will include everything a tailgater could imagine:
- Three TVs
- Leather massage chairs with heat and cooling features
- Hardwood floors
- DireTV satellite
- Custom accent stitching with Saban’s signature
According to AL.com, each van will carry a price of $200,000—but for a little piece of the coach, Tide fans will happily pay that, bringing a whole new meaning to living in a van down by the river.
If only it had a stripper pole in it, I would have actually considered purchasing one of these things if only to do the exact same thing a Bama fan did to his van earlier this week—yes, that’s me implying that I hate Alabama football.
To each is own, though.
