The Philadelphia Eagles didn’t quite look like their regular selves on Monday Night Football. For whatever reason, the Washington Commanders were able to steal away a win, giving Philadelphia their first loss of the season. Now, head coach Nick Sirianni shares a brutally honest response to the loss.

According to Grant Gordon, the Eagles’ head coach didn’t mince words when reacting to the surprising loss on Monday night. Nick Sirianni states, “I think when you play the way we did tonight, and you play the way we did on all three phases — offense, defense, special teams, coaching — when you play like that it does seem like everything’s going against you, you create your own luck, and we played like crap.”

Philadelphia truly didn’t look like the juggernaut we’ve seen them play like. Perhaps they overlooked the Commanders. Even so, there were two controversial calls that helped Washington drive the field and drain the clock. Even so, Nick Sirianni is making no excuses for the Eagles’ loss, per Grant Gordon.

“The [four] turnovers lost us the game, the time of possession loses you the game, we lost it together — offense, defense, special teams, coaching — we lost it together, that’s what lost us the game.”

NFL officials are all over the place every year. However, it’s kind of nice to hear a head coach not use the poor officiating as an excuse for the loss. That’s a sign of a good head coach and so far, it seems like the Eagles have a good one.

Look for Philadelphia to bounce back in Week 11 as they face off against the Indianapolis Colts.
