Earlier this week, Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets finished running through the NBA on their way to the franchise’s first title.

After the Nuggets closed out the Miami Heat on Monday night, there was little doubt about who would be taking home the Finals MVP trophy.

Nikola Jokic spent this postseason proving that he was the best player in the NBA after missing out on the regulr season’s MVP award despite nearly averaging a triple double while leading the Nuggets to the West’s best record.

Jokic had a monster series against the Heat, averaging 30.2 points, 14 points, and 7.2 assists per game in the 5 games it took for the Nuggets to claim the title.

However, Jokic hasn’t seemed all that interested in celebrating his and the team’s achievements since they won Game 5.

After the team’s win, Jokic was more interested in getting home to Serbia for a horse race than he was to take part in the team’s championship parade.

Now it seems that he may have lost some a pretty important piece of hardware he was given.

Jokic told Malika Andrews that he doesn’t know where the Finals MVP trophy is right now.

“I really don’t know. I left [the Finals MVP trophy] in Sparky [Gonzales’s] room and he’s not there anymore. So I don’t know.”

I guess when you already have a pair of regular season MVPs and just won your first ring, these kinds of things can just slip your mind.

Hopefully somebody knows where that trophy is because Nikola Jokic losing it would be a pretty wild ending to the Nuggets’ title run.
