North Carolina football coach Bill Belichick has been trending for all the wrong reasons following a loss to Clemson. Speculation is swirling surrounding a potential firing.
One of the Tar Heels‘ top players has broken his silence on the drama that’s unfolded over the last few days. He’s sending a positive message of unity as the staff searches for a traitorous mole.
Year 1 hasn’t gone according to plan for Belichick and Co. The team is 2-3 with uncompetitive losses to TCU, UCF, and Clemson. The Tar Heels have been outscored by nearly 100 points across those three matchups.
After a 38-10 loss to the Tigers, information about a chaotic locker room was leaked.

Earlier this week, a report from Pat Welter of WRAL suggested that Bill Belichick had lost control of his team. The reporter cited potential rule breaking in his story while describing an environment that allowed certain players to receive preferential treatment.
Locker room fights have also been alleged as sources close to the program continue to shed light on what’s transpiring behind closed doors.
It’s unclear who the leak is at this point. It does seem to be someone in the know. A booster? An administrator? A coach? A player? The staff is searching for answers.
Whatever the case, information being presented paints a dire picture in Chapel Hill.
Members of Belichick’s coaching staff have already spoken to other schools that are expected to be in the CFB Playoff about taking on roles during the postseason. From one coach: “the rats are leaving the ship”

Coaches are rumored to be jumping ship. Belichick, himself, is said to be searching for a safe spot to land. Meanwhile, North Carolina brass reportedly met to discuss a potential firing with cause to avoid paying a $20 million buyout.
Belichick responded to the rumors with a statement. “I’m fully committed to UNC football and the program we’re building here,” that message read.

House transferred from Washington, following Bill Belichick’s son to Chapel Hill. He is one of the most highly rated players on the defense.
He still supports the staff that brought him over from the West Coast. He still believes in the mission.
That may not come as a surprise as he’s been named as one of Belichick’s favorites. It’s alleged he’s potentially received preferential treatment in the forms of preferred parking, extra tickets to games, and/or empty punishments for missed classes and workouts.
It might be safe to assume that Khmori House is not the North Carolina football leak. Still, his support may not be enough to save Bill Belichick’s job.
