Odell Beckham Jr. Meets With Some Familiar Faces, Sparks Speculation About Potential Comeback Destination

Odell Beckham Jr. has had one of the NFL’s most interesting career paths.

The LSU product broke onto the scene as a superstar early in his career. The New York Giants selected OBJ with the No. 12 pick in the 2014 NFL Draft. It didn’t take long for him to become a household name. Beckham Jr. caught 91 balls for 1,305 yards and 12 touchdowns as a rookie, making the first of many Pro Bowls.

In fact, he made the Pro Bowl in each of his first three seasons and was in the discussion as the best wide receiver in the entire NFL.

Since then, things haven’t exactly gone to plan. A combination of injuries and off-field issues brought Beckham’s tenure with the Giants to a disappointing end. He was traded to the Cleveland Browns in 2019, and despite a solid season where he hauled in 74 passes for 1.035 yards and four touchdowns, things never really seemed to click.

Beckham suffered another major injury when he tore his ACL mid-way through the 2020 season. He’d return in 2021, but play just six games with Cleveland before being dealt to the Los Angeles Rams.

Beckham took on a more complimentary role in the Rams’ offense alongside superstar wideout Cooper Kupp. But he played the role well and helped Los Angeles reach, and win Super Bowl 57.

Unfortunately, Beckham couldn’t fully enjoy that victory as he tore his ACL again early in the game and missed the entire second half.

That left Beckham as a 29-year-old free agent with a major injury history and off-field baggage as well. But he may be one step closer to bringing his story full circle after an interesting meetup on Monday.

Odell Beckham Jr. Meets With Giants Players, Sparking Speculation Of A New York Return

Perhaps he just missed the cafeteria food or had to pick up something he left, but Beckham raised eyebrows when he returned to New York Giants’ facility on Monday.

Jeff Howe of The Athletic reported that OBJ was just meeting with a few friends.

One of those friends was reportedly New York wideout Sterling Shepard. Shepard, like Beckham, suffered a torn ACL recently in a game against the Dallas Cowboys. Beckham was quick to blame the MetLIfe Stadium turf for the injury.

Despite the nature of the visit, fans couldn’t help but speculate.

Giants fans seemed all about a move for the New York former superstar.

Surely it couldn’t happen…but what if?
