Well, that was quick. It didn’t even take all the way until the end of the first round for every single March Madness bracket in each of the major competitions to catch their first L.

ESPN, Yahoo, CBS, and NCAA.com have all seen each of their entries lose a game.

There have already been a number of unexpected results in just the first two days of March Madness. Day 1 opened with 11 seed Michigan storming back to beat 6 seed Colorado State. That was quickly followed up by Richmond shocking Big 10 champion Iowa in a 5-12 matchup.

Later in the day, we got two big upsets in rapid succession. First, it was New Mexico State knocking off 5 seed UCONN for their first NCAA Tournament win since the mid 90s.

Then the madness really began. 15 seed Saint Peter’s knocked off Kentucky in overtime. That ruined a lot of perfect brackets.

Friday didn’t have an upset as big as the Saint Peter’s win, but it did have a few smaller ones. Miami beat USC in a 7-10 game early in the day. Then Notre Dame dominated Alabama to get a 78-64 win as the only team who played in the First Four to win a second game.

The game that was seemingly the final straw for brackets across the country was Iowa State holding off LSU with a couple of clutch 3s late in the game to advance as an 11.

It looks like all of these companies will be safe from having to make the large payouts they promised in the case of a perfect March Madness bracket. I guess now all of us will just have to wait until next year to make our life-changing brackets.
