I’d like to wish a very happy St. Patrick’s Day to everyone out there who celebrates! That includes the Notre Dame Fighting Irish football fans who have just walked into this ruthless attack from the Oklahoma State Cowboys out of nowhere.
The Notre Dame Football team played its first game in 1887, a whopping 135 years ago, making it one of the oldest football programs in America. And the Oklahoma State Cowboys football program came into existence in the year 1900, not too far behind.
In the 122 long years that these two programs have coexisted, they have only faced each other ONE TIME. That matchup between the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame and the OSU Cowboys came recently. They faced each other on the New Year’s Day Fiesta Bowl where the Cowboys emerged victorious in a 37-35 win over Notre Dame.
They don’t have a rivalry. These teams don’t have bee. But Oklahoma State recognized today was St. Patrick’s Day and woke up today and chose violence with this tweet absolutely dunking on the Fighting Irish…

Oklahoma State Fans Are Here For It….
While these two teams might not have a traditional rivalry it’s never too late for now. OSU only has 1 (claimed) National Championship to Notre Dame’s 11. Oklahoma State only has 1 Heisman winner to ND’s 7 Heisman trophies. It certainly behooves the Cowboys to play up their win over ND as much as possible and fans are here for it on Twitter.

Notre Dame didn’t do anything to deserve catching this stray from Oklahoma State but that doesn’t make it any less hilarious. Notre Dame is one of if not the most successful college football programs in the nation (might be the only time you ever see me admit that) which puts a bullseye on their back forever.
Hopefully this blossoms into a future rivalry.
