Popular gymnast Olivia Dunne says a message from a stalker is why she felt the need to no longer attend her classes in person at LSU.

Dunne, ranked third on the list of NIL earners by on3.com at $3.3 million, told NJ.com this week, “I had a scare once with a message that I got about a class I was going to, and I was like, you know what, it’s not worth it. It was a threat.

“It seemed like they knew where I was at and what class, and I just decided better (to be) safe than sorry.”

An LSU police report obtained by NJ.com revealed that Dunne received death threats on Instagram on Dec. 2, 2021.

It also stated that the person who sent the message to Dunne threatened to “shoot up” the university’s campus.

“(Dunne) added that due to her large social media following … she was used to getting strange messages from unknown accounts but has not received a message of this nature before,” the report read.

LSU police were also called two months after that incident by gymnastics head coach Jay Clark when an unidentified man was seen watching the gymnasts inside the team’s facility.

No charges were filed in either case.

In July of 2023, Dunne confirmed that she could not attend classes in person at LSU due to her fame and safety concerns.

“I don’t want people to know my daily schedule and where I am,” Dunne told Elle.com.

Olivia shared with NJ.com that is why she never posts while still at an event, even campus events at LSU like football or baseball games.

“It’s not about people swarming me — people at LSU are used to me at this point,” Dunne said. She doesn’t want to encourage it.

Earlier this month, the 21-year-old LSU gymnast revealed that she and her teammates will have increased security for her final year of competing.

“We haven’t competed since last season, so we’ll see what this season holds,” Livvy told People. :But after the incident in Utah that happened last year, we now have a security guard that travels with the LSU gymnastics team.”
