Oklahoma State running back Ollie Gordon lost his temper during the first half of the Big 12 Championship game against Texas. He recorded just 28 yards on 10 carries through the Cowboys’ first eight offensive possessions and proceeded to throw a tantrum on the sideline.

Gordon came off of the field following a three-and-out with the burning rage of a thousands suns. That was abundantly clear when he walked over to the bench, unleashed some expletives, and chucked his helmet down at the ground. It wasn’t a lob. It wasn’t a toss.

Gordon reared back and violently threw his lid into the metal bench.

The sophomore ball-carrier, who really came into his own in Week 4, would have been a legitimate Heisman Trophy contender if not for his lack of touches during the first three weeks of the season. He was Oklahoma State‘s only hope of beating the Longhorns in Arlington on Saturday and could not find any room to run against a strong defensive front during the first half.

Ollie Gordon II was not happy. At all.

Frustrated would be an understatement. Rage was more like it.

His disappointing start to the Big 12 Championship came after he spewed some serious disrespect toward Texas during pregame. Gordon ran up and down the sideline cursing his opponent’s name.

Everybody loves when things get chippy during big games, but Gordon’s actions were rather awkward when his team went into the locker room down by 21 at the break. Especially considering that he was averaging just 2.8 yards per carry and smashed his helmet in frustration.

Passion in college football is great. Energy is great.

Even angry outbursts can be a motivating factor!

Gordon tried to light a fire under the rest of his offense. It just so happened to come after he was wildly disrespectful toward the team that kept him in check early. That’s a tough look…
