We’ve seen some announcers receive suspensions for just flat out saying dumb stuff.

And it almost always feels like their apology is followed up with a Nick Castellanos home run.

However, the Baltimore Orioles allegedly suspended their announcer Kevin Brown for literally doing his job. No, seriously. The guy was just doing his job, the team didn’t like what he said, and he got suspended.

According to Awful Announcing, “Brown has been off the TV airwaves since calling the end of the team’s series against the Tampa Bay Rays on July 23. He shifted to radio for a series against the Philadelphia Phillies after that, and then has been off the air entirely since that series’ July 26 conclusion.”

So, that’s 15 days as of this posting that the Orioles announcer, Kevin Brown, has been suspended from the team.

Awful Announcing shares a video of the alleged comments that led to Brown’s suspension. When you watch the clip, you’ll notice that all he’s doing is rattling off the Orioles recent struggles against the Tampa Bay Rays. Yup. That’s it.

Is that not the softest suspension decision you’ve ever seen?

The fact he hasn’t been back in the booth since then is wild. And this isn’t a great look for the Orioles at all.

I keep trying to put myself in the team’s shoes. I guess technically Kevin Brown was talking bad about his employer.

But still, he works for a sports organization and wanted to talk about an interesting bit about the team ahead of their series against a division rival.

With that said, I just hope Brown gets back in the booth soon.
