Paddy Pimblett is one of the biggest rising stars in the entire UFC.

The charismatic Liverpool native in 20-3 in his MMA career and undefeated since joining the UFC in September of 2021. Though his most recent victory of Jared Gordon in a lightweight bout was more than a little controversial.

Pimblett’s popularity has as much to do for his work in the cage as it does for his work away from it. The 27-year-old gained a number of fans after speaking out about men’s mental health after a fight in July and has added even more with work as a YouTube content creator and podcaster.

In one of his most popular YouTube videos, the UFC star fought 10 US Marines and the outcome wasn’t even close. This time, he’s taking on a much less formidable foe.

Paddy Pimblett Smokes Internet Troll In Fight

As the old Mike Tyson saying goes: “Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face.”

Well, one particular internet troll had a plan to get himself into a fight with Pimblett. He spent weeks commenting on Pimblett’s YouTube videos trying to goad him into a fight. Eventually, the UFC star invited him to Next Generation MMA in Liverpool for a sparring session. Pimblett said that if he survived unlimited rounds, he’d give the troll £500.

What happened next was tough to watch

The man showed up, which led to Pimblett praising him for “having cajones.” But the sparring session was about as one-sided as you’d expect, with Pimblett beating down the troll without having to exert much effort at all.

In the first round, Pimblett one via “TKO” after the troll gave up following a number of leg kicks. The second round ended much like the first, with Pimblett pummelling him on the ground.  In the third and final round, Pimblett’s opponent gives in after taking a kick to the arm.

Ultimately, the guy walks away with money for his train ticket from Pimblett and another nice payday from a special guest, Manchester rapper Meekz.

But it’s just another example of an internet commenter who talks a big game that they very clearly can’t back up.
