Paige Spiranac is back with another viral video. This time the popular golf influencer shares her tips for how to break 90 on the course.

Spiranac begins her video by explaining how one of her sponsors, Shot Scope, has identified “exactly what you need to do in order to break 90 on the course.”

Paige explains that they have compiled a lot of data on how amateur golfers perform on the golf course. And by a lot, she means their database contains information on over two hundred million shots.

Throughout the video, Spiranac goes through what she says are the four key steps that will not only help you break 90, but also 100, 80, 70, “doesn’t matter,” she says.

Paige Spiranac shares four tips and several drills to help anyone lower their golf score

“First off, it’s all about distance, baby,” Spiranac says. “The further you hit the ball the better chances are of reaching more holes and hitting it closer to the pin.”

Based on the data, hitting over 220 yards off the tee gives you the best chance of breaking 90.

Spiranac explains how to do that if you aren’t already.

“Most people with their golf swing lack having an active lower body and that’s actually how you’re going to hit it farther and have more power,” she explains as she moves out the range to share a couple of drills anyone can do.

Her second tip covers how to improve how you play par 5 holes.

“The easiest way to do so is to get your second shot as close as possible,” Spiranac says.

Back on the range, Paige goes through what she refers to as “some crispy wedge shots.”

The third tip involves how to stop three-putting on the green.

Golfers who don’t break 90 usually three-putt two to three times per round, however she adds that obviously anyone can benefit from reducing their three-putts.

She recommends practicing certain puts before playing, working on your pace and holing out short putts.

Spiranac’s fourth tip for lowering your golf score is to “hit more greens.”

She says “typically in order to break 90 you need to be hitting at least 20 percent of the greens, which is actually only four greens per round.”

“You miss greens because you don’t grab enough club or you’re not hitting it solid,” she explains, back on the range before sharing two drills to help hit the ball more solid.

While admitting that all of that is easier said than done, Spiranac closes by saying, “It’s really just small changes that take your game to that next level.”

If you are curious what kind of practice routine Paige Spiranac uses or what was the best shot she ever hit (and her worst), she recently did a short Q&A that you can read here.
