Deshaun Watson is set to be traded any day now, but it’s not going to be the Carolina Panthers.
Watson reportedly met with the Panthers, but he removed them from his list of potential trade partners on Thursday. As it stands now, Watson is making a decision between the Atlanta Falcons and New Orleans Saints.
A new report indicates why Watson eliminated Carolina as a possible trade destination, and the reasoning behind his decision is interesting.
According to ESPN’s David Newton, Watson wanted the Panthers to guarantee the third and fourth years of his contract. Carolina refused to do so, therefore Watson eliminated them from the running.

The Panthers are in desperate need of a franchise quarterback. Watson could have very well been that guy, which if they believed that, why wouldn’t they guarantee him his third and fourth years?
