The Los Angeles Lakers are not good, Russell Westbrook is struggling big time, and Patrick Beverley wants you to know about it.

Beverley and Westbrook have a history with one another. Back in 2019, Westbrook shared some choice words about Beverley’s defensive abilities. Beverley is known for being a good defender and agitator, but Westbrook sure doesn’t think so.

Westbrook explained that Beverley tricks people into thinking he’s a good defender because he’s so vocal and active, saying he is just “he don’t guard nobody, he’s just running around doing nothing.” It’s worth noting that Beverley has been an all-defensive player in the NBA three times in his career.

Now that Westbrook is struggling on the court, Beverley decided to give him a taste of his own medicine.

While Westbrook didn’t suit up for the Lakers’ loss to the Trailblazers on Wednesday night, Beverley still took the opportunity to take a shot at Westbrook.

‘The Magician’ is a great nickname for Westbrook right now.

On multiple occasions this season, Westbrook has been benched late in games given just how inconsistent he’s been.

While he’s averaging over 18 points per game this season, he hasn’t exactly been a consistent player for Los Angeles. Since the turn of the new year, Westbrook is shooting just 34% from the field and averaging over three turnovers per game.

The Lakers are currently four games under .500 and look nowhere close to being a legitimate threat in the West.
