After today’s Chiefs win, quarterback Patrick Mahomes was unavailable to the media because he left immediately after the game to attend to a family emergency.
Coverage note: Andy Reid said that the @ChiefsPR staff will arrange a time for the local media to speak with QB Patrick Mahomes, who left right after the game due to a family emergency.

A few hours later we have now learned that the stepfather of Mahomes’ girlfriend Brittany Matthews passed away suddenly on Sunday afternoon at the Chiefs game.

Today is a day I will never forget! Directly after this picture I sprinted to the front entrance to see my step dad passed out! He did not come back from this and he was called to heaven today! I KNOW 100% he is so happy up there with his kids looking down on us cheering loud that his chiefs won today! Thank you everyone for the prayers and sweet text! We will miss you Paul So So So Much!
