The Kansas City Chiefs have basically been an unstoppable force since Patrick Mahomes took over as the starting quarterback.

They have two Super Bowl rings and there is no telling how many more championships this team will win before he calls it a career.

At this point, it’s no question that Mahomes is the best quarterback in the league. However, he wants to make sure everyone knows that his success is largely due to Andy Reid.

While being interviewed on the AP Pro Football Podcast with Rob Maaddi, Patrick Mahomes shares the important role Andy Reid has played throughout his career so far.

Not only does the Chiefs’ quarterback praise Reid for being a great head coach, but he also pinpoints how great of a person Reid is in general.

“He’s meant the world to me. He’s just the best. He’s the best coach, obviously, one of the best coaches of all time, but he’s just one of the best people of all time. He’s learned how to get the most out of me every day. He doesn’t let me be satisfied with where I’m at. He teaches me a ton.”

From there, Patrick Mahomes credits Andy Reid for allowing him to play football how he wants. Without Reid, Mahomes questions where he’d be in his career.

“Not only the quarterback position, but how to be a leader and how to be a great dad and how to be a great husband. He lets me be who I am every single day. I think if I’d have went to some other places, I would’ve had to learn how to play the quarterback position a different way, and he just lets me play the quarterback position the way that I want to play it. I think that’s what’s made me such a different type of quarterback in this league.”

There really is no one like Mahomes. He does things on the football field nobody should be able to do. He’s a walking highlight reel and it’s hard to imagine we’ll ever see anyone play with his level of creativity.

His style of play certainly grabbed Travis Kelce’s attention early on in his career.

Here’s what Kelce had to say about his first impression of Mahomes during a guest appearance on Bussin’ With The Boys with Taylor Lewan and Will Compton.

At 27-years old, Patrick Mahomes has plenty of time remaining in his career and it doesn’t seem like Andy Reid will retire soon either.

If they continue to play as they have been in recent years, we may be witnessing the next dynasty after the New England Patriots.
