Signing day has been absolutely bonkers as there were plenty of surprises to be had. One of which, was when five-star recruit Peyton Bowen, chose the Oregon Ducks over Notre Dame.

However, that apparently isn’t lasting long, as Bowen can’t seem to make up his mind.

According to Nick Harris, after previously choosing Oregon over Notre Dame, Peyton Bowen is flipping for the third time. Now, it sounds like the talented safety prospect is heading to Oklahoma.

This is brutal news for the Ducks. After having a monster day, they take a hit losing one of the top recruits to the Sooners. As of now, it’s unknown why Peyton Bowen changed his mind again. However, with NIL playing a major factor in recruiting, it’s not crazy to think Oklahoma offered a better money deal than Oregon.

At least the Ducks still have five-star defensive end Matayo Uiagalelei remaining on the roster. On top of that, Oregon reeled in one of the best quarterback recruits in the nation in Austin Novosad. Even so, it would have been nice to keep Peyton Bowen on this team.

In the end, the Ducks are still walking away with a solid recruiting class. Meanwhile, Bowen will play for a school that competes in a more prestigious conference right now. Maybe Oregon can find another safety in the transfer portal?
