Peyton Manning has been retired from the NFL for several years now. But that doesn’t mean he has shared every story just yet.

Football is a brutal sport and even the legends can’t avoid injuries.

That certainly was the case for Peyton Manning back in the day, as he apparently broke his jaw mid-game.

During a guest appearance on the Pat McAfee Show, Manning was asked about trash-talking on the field.

However, the Hall of Fame quarterback claims he wasn’t much of a trash-talker. Instead, he recalled a story of when he got sacked and broke his jaw in the middle of a game.

Additionally, the player who delivered the hit was fined a measly $2,500 and even tried asking Manning to help him appeal it.

Watch the clip below for the full story.

So Peyton Manning basically had his jaw crunched between two defenders. But could you imagine the galls it would take to have your agent reach out to Manning to help you appeal a small fine?

Obviously, the Hall of Famer wasn’t having any of it.

But it just goes to show you how brutal of a game football can be.

Luckily, it wasn’t too serious and he was able to have a long, historic career. Now, it’s just a story to look back on and laugh about.
