Peyton Manning: ‘Manningcast’ Is Shot In Buddy Scott’s Garage Because I Tossed 4 Picks Against Bengals In 2014

Peyton Manning revealed in a recent interview that he shoots the “Manningcast” of Monday Night Football from his friend Scott’s garage.

As for why the Hall of Famer decided to use Scott’s garage, he said it’s because the latter owed him a favor after Peyton caught him talking smack about him behind his back. Or, at least he was *trying* to smack-talk him behind his back.

During a recent appearance on the SmartLess podcast with hosts Jason Bateman, Will Arnett, and Sean Hayes, Manning revealed that a December 2014 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals in which he tossed four interceptions is the reason that the Manningcast is now filmed from his pal’s garage.

“You ever texted someone accidentally? You’re talking about them and you text the person you’re talking about? I threw four interceptions against the Bengals one night, I come in [to the locker room], I got four texts: my Dad, my brother, my wife. I have a fourth text from Scott, whose text says “Hey, do you think Peyton has money on this game?”

That, however, isn’t the aspect of the blunder that bothered Manning, but rather, what Scott did after.

“We’ve all been there, right? Do I respond? No. Do I know it’s an accident? Yes. Scott called me on Thursday to say, ‘Hey, my 10-year-old was playing with my phone, if you got a weird text.’ I’m like, alright, Scott, the fact that you blamed your 10-year-old son, now I have a problem with it. So, 10 years later, I said, ‘Scott, I need your garage, okay, you owe me, that was mental trauma, so I’m using your garage.”

Co-host Will Arnett said what we’re all thinking by chiming in at the end of Manning’s story to say that “Scott’s a dirtbag.”

The matchup that Manning is talking about happened on Monday, December 22, 2014, when the Broncos fell to the Bengals by a score of 37-28. In addition to the four picks, Manning completed 28 of 44 passes for 311 yards and two touchdowns in the game, which saw Marvin Lewis and Andy Dalton’s Bengals clinch a playoff berth.

Manning also said that the reason that he doesn’t film the Manningcast at his own house is that ESPN apparently leaves the filming set-up there year-round, which was apparently a no-go for his wife Ashley.
