PGA Tour Has Addressed Jon Rahm’s Biggest Gripe But It May Be Too Little Too Late

Earlier this year, Jon Rahm got the chance to answer a question about what he’d change on the PGA Tour if he was in charge, and he gave a very practical answer when he called attention to the shortage of toilets on the course. It appears the organization has heard him loud and clear—but it may be a moot point thanks to rumors that started to swirl this week.

Jon Rahm is currently the third-best golfer on the planet (behind Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy), and he’s done very, very well for himself on the PGA Tour.

While he stayed loyal after a number of notable names defected to LIV Golf, he also hasn’t been a vocal critic of the upstart rival and hasn’t ruled out the possibility he could swap allegiances at some point.

Last month,  Eddie Pepperell claimed the folks at LIV declined to match the massive number Rahm reportedly responded with when they asked him how much money it would take to poach him, but it appears there’s a chance the two parties could come to an amicable agreement if the league agrees to retool its format to make him happy.

Rahm doesn’t have much left to prove on the PGA Tour, and the fact that he earned a five-year major exemption after winning The Masters in 2023 means he’d still be able to compete in the most anticipated events on the golf calendar while taking full advantage of the massive bag of cash LIV will undoubtedly throw his way.

It’s hard to imagine there’s much the PGA Tour can do to convince him to stay loyal, but according to Josh Carpenter of Sports Business Journal, the league released a memo concerning some of the new perks players will be able to take advantage of this season, which includes access to cold plunge tubs, a revamped courtesy car program, and a minimum of eight restrooms reserved for golfers on every course.

If Rahm does decide to stick with the PGA Tour, I can only hope he does the funniest thing possible and claim this was the real reason he opted to stay.
