The Philadelphia Phillies are headed to the World Series. The club took down the Padres in five games to win the National League crown. Now, they’ll await their opponent, which will be either the Astros or Yankees.

Sunday’s series clinching win came in dramatic fashion as the Phillies overcame a one-run deficit in the bottom of the eighth inning. Fittingly, a Bryce Harper two-run homer was the difference.

It’s Philly’s first trip to the World Series since the team made back-to-back trips in 2008 and 2009. Philadelphia won it all in the ’08 campaign before falling to the Bronx Bombers the following season.

Despite entering the postseason as a long shot to win it all, the Phillies have advanced through the divisional and championship rounds with ease. They took down defending champion Braves in four games before upsetting the Padres. This coming after sweeping the Cardinals in the Wild Card.

Overall, Philadelphia is 9-2 in the playoffs. That dominance has fans over the moon, and they’re appropriately celebrating the win.

In true Philadelphia fashion, Phillies fans are climbing light poles in the streets of City of Brotherly Love.

The party continued after the game, with fans spilling out into the streets of Philadelphia. In what’s become a tradition, those Phillies supporters began climbing light poles.

Videos were captured by a number of social media accounts showing rabid fans celebrating their most recent championship.

This party will likely last all night.
