The Washington Wizards have been at the center of all of the biggest trades so far during this NBA offseason.

They traded Bradley Beal to the Phoenix Suns in a deal that got them Chris Paul, Landry Shamet, and some picks.

Then they sent Kristaps Porzingis to the Celtics.

Today they were involved in another trade involving Paul. This one got them Jordan Poole.

While we already knew that the first trade with Paul was going to bring some picks to the Wizards, today we learned the wild number of picks they could actually be getting.

According to NBA insider Adrian Wojanrowski, the Phoenix Suns are going to be sending the Wizards a second round pick in 2024, 2025, 2026, 2027, 2028, 2030. That might not be the end of the picks heading the Wizards’ way.

He also reported that the Wizards will have the option to swap 1st rounders with the Suns in 2024, 2026, 2028, and 2030.

The first couple of pick swaps probably won’t yield much for the Wizards with Kevin Durant and Beal under contract for a few more years and Devin Booker probably not going anywhere any time soon.

After that, the last 2 swaps should actually end up giving the Wizards some nice picks as those would likely come after Durant and Beal retire.

Things looked pretty bleak for the Wizards coming into today as they had given up Kristaps Porzingis and Bradley Beal without getting too much in return.

However, the full terms of the Beal trade definitely make it look a bit better and then using Chris Paul to get Jordan Poole and picks certainly helps the Wizards as they start their rebuild.

They’ll have plenty of draft capital to rebuild with and a star to build around.

Today was a pretty good day for the Washington Wizards.
