We have more fallout regarding the Scottie Scheffler situation in Louisville.

Two weeks ago, Scheffler, the #1 ranked golfer in the world, was arrested outside the PGA Championship at Valhalla hours before his second-round tee time.

After several videos appeared to counter the arresting officer’s initial police report claiming Scheffler dragged him with his car and ripped his $80 pants after ignoring directions, the prosecutor’s office decided to drop the charges against Scheffler just as long as he and the officer declined to pursue legal charges against each other.

Scheffler released a statement when the charges were dropped and said he had no ill will toward the arresting officer.

During a heated interaction with a reporter, Scheffler’s lawyer, Steve Romines, claimed the officer used dirty tactics while questioning Scheffler.

“Here’s what happened. He was being interrogated after the most stressful situation of his life. The officer is actually asking him leading questions and trying to get him to agree with him. That’s why you don’t talk to police!” “They are not trying to get to what happened. They are trying to get you to incriminate yourself,”

The police officer at the center of the controversy, Detective Shane Gillis, released a statement of his own blasting Scheffler’s lawyer for his comment.

“It was unfortunate and disturbing to hear Steve Romines’ commentary today-claiming a “false arrest” was made and for him to challenge my honesty and integrity,” Gillis wrote. “I’d be surprised and disappointed if Mr. Scheffler actually had any part in making those statements. To be clear, I was drug by the car, I went to the ground, and I received visible injuries to my knees and wrist. I’m going to recover from it, and it will be ok.”
