The Las Vegas Raiders have had quite a disappointing season this year. Now, things go from bad to worse. While dealing with a hamstring injury, Darren Waller has been noticeably absent. On Thursday, Vegas decided to place Waller on IR and will now weigh their options for the next several weeks.

Raiders Place Darren Waller On IR Due To Hamstring Injury

According to Ian Rapoport, the Raiders feel that placing Waller on IR is “the only option for his hamstring to fully heal.” He’s been teetering between questionable and out all year long. Clearly, the franchise was hopeful Darren Waller would return. Instead, they’re going to let him rest for at least four weeks, then reevaluate his hamstring again.

Considering how the season is going, it makes sense why the Raiders placed their superstar tight end on IR. They’re not officially out of the playoff race just yet, however, why risk further injury when they don’t have to?

In the meantime, we’re likely to see Foster Moreau takeover. He’s proven to be a reliable pass option for the Raiders anytime he fills in at the tight end position. This move also always Las Vegas to weigh their options for the season.

Hopefully, this isn’t a long-term nagging injury and Darren Waller returns with no hiccups in four weeks. Keep an eye on this situation though, as the Raiders could surely use another star in the offense.
