Ever since news broke that NFL wide receiver Rashee Rice was wanted by police after a multi-vehicle hit-and-run, the media and fans have had questions.

Well, rest easy, folks. The Kansas City Chiefs are on the case.

On Sunday, it was reported that Rice is wanted by Dallas police it was discovered that the accident involved a Lamborghini registered in his name.

The Lamborghini and a Chevrolet Corvette were allegedly speeding, according to a Dallas police spokeswoman, when both of them lost control, causing a chain reaction collision involving four other vehicles.

Rice, 23, was not at the scene of the accident and the driver of his Lamborghini fled the scene, so police aren’t yet sure if he was driving the supercar when it crashed.

However, video released on Monday appears to show that Rashee Rice, who grew up outside of Dallas, was either a driver or passenger in the car.

Monday morning, Kansas City Chiefs president Mark Donovan reassured everyone during an appearance on KCMO Talk Radio.

“In all these situations, you have to wait until you have all the facts, and frankly, we don’t have all the facts at this point. The one comforting fact that we do have is that there was a multi-car crash in Texas, in Dallas,” said Donovan.

“And fortunately, it doesn’t appear that anyone was hurt, and we should be grateful for that. We’ll get to the bottom of it, we’ll gather the facts, and we’ll react accordingly.”

Phew. Thank you, Chiefs.

Monday afternoon, the Kansas City Chiefs’ wide receiver’s attorney issued a statement about the mysterious situation.

“On behalf of Rashee Rice, his thoughts are with everyone impacted by the automobile accident on Saturday,” the statement read. “Rashee is cooperating with local authorities and will take all necessary steps to address this situation responsibly. Any and all requests for comment can be directed to his attorney Mr. Royce West of West & Associates, LLP.”

So far no charges have been filed against Rice.
