The Cincinnati Bengals and Kansas City Chiefs will face off for a second straight postseason. The odds in that AFC Championship Game have already seen a wild swing.

Last year’s heavyweight bout saw the Bengals leave with a 34-31 overtime win. The Chiefs will look for revenge this time around.

Oddsmakers initially projected a Kansas City victory as they set the opening line at -3 in favor of the home team. Fast forward to Monday, and the AFC Championship odds have shifted drastically.

Cincinnati is now favored, and many are looking at one player for that dramatic swing.

That man is Joe Burrow.

One person wrote, “Joe Cool is a problem.” Another posted, “Joey B.”

The surprising swing has many talking, but maybe they shouldn’t be shocked to see the Bengals favored, even on the road. After all, Cincy has won three straight over KC. Each of those contests have been decided by a field goal.

Cincinnati won the only regular season meeting between the two foes in 2022, taking down the Chiefs down 27-24. Joe Burrow has been an absolute thorn in Patrick Mahomes’s side of late, and he’s playing his best ball of the season at the right time.

Bettors also may be taking into account an ankle injury suffered by Patrick Mahomes in his last game. Though he was able to finish out the second half in their victory over Jaguars, he could be less than 100% when he suits up this weekend.

While the odds for this AFC Championship game have changed, it’s still expected to be a close game against the two best teams in the conference. We’ll see if Joe Burrow gets another win or if Patrick Mahomes can finally get his payback.

A Super Bowl appearance will be on the line.
