Skyline Chili is a food staple in the city of Cincinnati. So, when the Reds’ broadcast team discovered that Citi Field in New York was selling a Skyline Chili egg roll, they enlisted reporter Jim Day to try it out on camera.

It did not go well for him.

“I can’t imagine this is true, Skyline,” Day began his review, which quickly descended into hilarity. “First of all, it’s very greasy.”

After taking a bite, his first reaction was, “Umm.” And that was all she wrote, as Reds broadcasters John Sadak and Jeff Brantley absolutely could not contain their laughter.

“That’s not the world’s most ringing endorsement when it opens with a long ‘umm,’” said Sadak while beginning to lose it.

“You’re killing me,” Day replied, who then added another, “Umm.”

“His second take leads with ‘umm,’ Sadak then said and none of them could hold it together, adding, “He’s speechless.”

After making it clear that he loves Skyline, Jim Day says he will give the Citi Field egg roll one more try.

After yet more uncontrollable laughter and another comment from Sadak, Day said, “This is the lowest point of my career, and I have had some low ones. What do the kids say, mid? This is below mid. Taking one for the team, you guys are killing me.”

In conclusion, Sadak then said, while still laughing, “So his review was: ‘Umm, umm.’ I would like to apologize to mom. I will give it one more try. And ‘oof.’ And then, he called it the lowest point of his career.”

“I got grease all over my hands… The stuff I do for this job,” Day ended it.
