Richmond basketball pulled a massive upset over conference rival Dayton on Saturday, and fans celebrated appropriately. The crowd rushed onto the court when the final buzzer sounded, capping a win over the nation’s 16th-ranked team in epic fashion.

The program’s social media team then immediately trolled college basketball analyst Jay Bilas with an online post.

Court storming has been a big topic of discussion this season with media and head coaches lending their thoughts. When done correctly, it can be a thing of beauty. Look no further than South Carolina’s win over Kentucky earlier this week.

When things go awry, though, it can create a scary situation.

Iowa women’s basketball star Caitlin Clark wound up on the wrong side of a celebration when she collided with an Ohio State fan making her way from the stands.

That potentially prompted LSU head coach Kim Mulkey to dissuade her home crowd from rushing the floor ahead of a matchup with the top-ranked team.

Jay Bilas has been one of those critics, recently saying that fans don’t deserve a spot on the court at any time.

“I love the passion, but fans do not belong on the court, ever!” he exclaimed on ESPN over the weekend.

Richmond’s basketball team clearly sides against Bilas and his stance on court storming.

After landing the upset over Dayton, Spiders fans made their ways to the logo at midcourt. Visuals of the celebration were quickly posted online.

“Hide your eyes,” the program’s social media team wrote after the game, tagging Jay Bilas in the post.

The win continued Richmond’s incredible season as the Spiders picked up their 10th straight victory. After starting the season 5-5, the team is now 15-5 and a perfect 7-0 in conference play.

They’re also 1-0 against Bilas as they continue to pick up W’s on and off the court.
