Netflix’s Roast of Tom Brady produced more than a handful of memorable moments.

But perhaps none were as serious as one from 82-year-old New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft.

Kraft told plenty of jokes, but he also got serious at one point, making a bizarre call out of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“One more thing. In case, Vladimir Putin, you’re watching,” Kraft began. “Give me my f—— ring back, will ya?!”

Bold move. But it turns out Kraft has good reason to be upset with the infamous Russian dictator.

In a recent Apple TV+ documentary called The Dynasty, Kraft recalled a time he and several other American business leaders met with Putin.

What happened next, nobody could have imagined.

Kraft claims he showed Putin the ring he’d recently acquired after the Patriots topped the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl 39. Putin then allegedly placed it in his pocket and walked away.

Kraft says that then-United States President George W. Bush personally asked him to publicly state he gave it to the leader as a gift in order to diffuse tensions after the press pointed out the theft.

“I pulled the ring out of my pocket and gave it to him. He put it on and then he looked at me and he said, ‘I could kill someone with this ring’. So I did a whiplash and I said, ‘Mr. President, you could kill someone without it. You were head of the KGB,'” Kraft said in the documentary. “He took the ring off and I had my hand out and he took the ring. He put it in his side pocket. Three KGB guys come around him and he’s off.”

Putin allegedly still keeps the ring, worth around $25,000, in his library to this day.

Something tells us Robert Kraft isn’t getting his ring back anytime soon.
