Aaron Rodgers went on ESPN earlier this week to call out his own team for allowing leaks to the media.

Asked about his quarterback’s comments earlier this week — Rodgers called a report about Zach Wilson not wanting to return to the starting line-up “chicken shit” — New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh downplayed the situation.

“I don’t think it’s an attack on the organization, but I always appreciate Aaron’s thoughts and comments,” Saleh said to reporters earlier this week.

The Jets’ miserable 2023 season will continue on Sunday when they take on the Houston Texans at home. Zach Wilson will be the Jets’ starter this weekend and likely for the rest of the season going forward. The former #2 overall draft pick was benched the previous two weeks in favor of Tim Boyle, who has since been cut.

In addition to the game against the Texans, the Jets still have to face off against the Miami Dolphins, Cleveland Browns, Washington Commanders, and New England Patriots before yet another lost season comes to an end.

Prior to the start of the season, the Jets were arguably the most-hyped team in the National Football League as they were considered a Super Bowl contender for the first time in over a decade. That hope lasted barely one quarter of NFL football, though, as Rodgers tore his achilles just four snaps into the season, ultimately leading the Jets to a 13th straight season of playoff football.

Despite the struggles this season, Aaron Rodgers is set to return to the Jets next year, as it head coach Robert Saleh, offensive coordinator Nathaiel Hackett, and general manager Joe Douglas.
