Rocky and Rowdy Beers made headlines this week at Florida International University. No, those aren’t frosty beverages being enjoyed by fans in the Miami stands.

Rather, they are the names of two brothers on the FIU football team.

The Golden Panthers faced off against UTEP in midweek action on Wednesday, and while the outcome wasn’t what the program was hoping for, the team still found a way to grab the attention of college football viewers.

Rocky and Rowdy Beers are brothers that both happen to play tight end for the Panthers, though the duo took different routes to get to the university.

Rocky spent time at Air Force before transferring to FIU this offseason. He didn’t record any offensive stats with the Falcons though he was able to notch three tackles and a forced fumble last year.

Rowdy, meanwhile, committed to play for the program last December as a three-star prospect. He chose the Panthers over an offer from home state school Northern Colorado.

The pair has combined to make six grabs this season totaling 47 yards. They took social media by storm on Wednesday with college football fans discovering the brother-teammates.

You have a special squad when you have both Rowdy and Rocky Beers.”

FIU having brothers named Rocky and Rowdy Beers is insane and needs to be talked about more.”

No way FIU has a dude named Rocky Beers... great catch also.”

These two definitely have a spot on college football’s all-name team for the 2023 season. You’ll be able to catch the pass catching tandem in Miami over the next few years.
