The Washington Commanders found a way to upset the Philadelphia Eagles for a monster win on Monday Night Football. Afterward, head coach Ron Rivera became extremely emotional while Terry McLaurin delivered the postgame speech of the season. Give it a watch to give your day a little jolt.
Field Yates shares the clip and provides some context as well. The Commanders’ head coach was so emotional he could only utter the words “my mother would have been proud.” After that, Terry McLaurin steps in for Ron Rivera and delivers the best postgame speech we’ve heard in a long time.
This moment of Ron Rivera thinking of his late mother is powerful. His leadership to this franchise is exceptional.
And when we’re talking about most indispensable players, Terry McLaurin needs to be on the list. Elite player and human.

If that doesn’t fire you up then we don’t know what will. Washington was a severe underdog for their matchup against the Eagles. Instead, they shocked the world after leaving it all on the field. It was such a valiant effort that Ron Rivera couldn’t help but think of his late mother and how proud she would be.
Many believed early on in the season the Commanders might be a team seeking a new head coach at the end of the year. However, after Sunday night’s game, it’s hard not to root for Rivera. He clearly has his finger on the pulse of this team, as his leadership shines through week in and week out.
Look for Ron Rivera and the Commanders to keep the win streak alive as they take on the Houston Texans in Week 11.
