The New Orleans Saints have made a significant move to bolster their offensive line ahead of the upcoming NFL season.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the team has signed veteran guard Trai Turner following a successful pre-training camp tryout.

The terms of the one-year contract have not been officially disclosed, but it is anticipated to be in the range of his previous deals.

Turner, who is 30 years old, brings a wealth of experience and talent to the Saints. He was a dominant force during his time with the Carolina Panthers, earning five Pro-Bowl selections from 2015 to 2019.

Notably, Turner was a key part of the Panthers’ lineup during their Super Bowl appearance against the Denver Broncos. Over the course of his career, Turner has played in an impressive 126 games.

The move comes as the Saints look to address concerns about the durability of their interior offensive line.

During the offseason, the team attempted to address these depth issues by signing Billy Price, but he was released after failing his physical.

With Turner now in the mix, the Saints hope to find stability within their offensive line and provide much-needed depth. Turner will have the opportunity to compete for the top backup spot and could be a crucial asset in fortifying the team’s offensive front.
