There are some pretty big names that have been holding out of camp so far during this NFL offseason.

Josh Jacobs reportedly left Las Vegas amid his contract dispute with the Raiders.

Chris Jones is still not at Chiefs camp while he tries to get a contract extension from the Chiefs ahead of the last year of his current deal.

Zack Martin isn’t at Cowboys camp as he tries to move up from 9th on the list of highest paid offensive linemen.

Now it looks like there will be another star joining them.

According to NFL insider Adam Schefter, San Francisco 49ers GM John Lynch doesn’t expect Nick Bosa to show up for training camp with the rest of the team as they negotiate a contract extension.

Bosa is currently set to head into the 2023 season on the 5th year of his rookie contract.

That 5th year would pay him just under $18 million for the season.

The deal that Bosa and the 49ers have been working on this offseason would reportedly make him the highest paid edge rusher in the NFL.

That title is currently held by Steelers star TJ Watt, who agreed to a deal 2 years ago that pays him $28 million per year.

The most guaranteed money in the league for an edge rusher is actually owned by Bosa’s brother, Joey.

Bosa has certainly earned himself this big raise from the 49ers. He has been just about unstoppable the past 2 seasons.

Over the last 2 years, Bosa is averaging more than a sack per game and has helped give he San Francisco 49ers one of the NFL’s most dominant defenses.

This past year, he racked up 18.5 sacks in 16 games on his way to winning the Defensive Player of the Year award.

Now Nick Bosa will end up getting paid like the NFL’s best defender before the start of the 2023 season.
