Pro golfer Scott Stallings was caught in an interesting situation this week, and it has folks reacting on social media. The PGA star was contacted by a fan for the most hilarious of reasons.

Stallings has been awaiting his invitation to the upcoming Masters Tournament, one of the most highly regarded events on the tour. In fact, he’d become a bit worried about the invite and admitted to frantically checking the mail upwards of five times a day.

Each time he came back empty-handed, and now, we know why.

The Masters had sent the invitation to the wrong Scott Stallings. The recipient soon reached out to the PGAer to inform him of the mix up. The Instagram exchange, which Stallings posted to his social media accounts, is great.

Here’s what the fan had to say.

“Hi Scott. My name is Scott Stallings as well, and I’m from [Georgia]. My wife’s name is also Jennifer, too!… I received a FedEx today from the Masters inviting me to play in the Tournament on April 6-9. I’m sure this is NOT for me to play. I play, but wow! Nowhere near your level. It’s a very nice package complete with everything needed to attend. I think we have some confusion because of our names, wives’ names, and geographical location.”

Not only do the two share the same name, but their wives do, too. He then included a picture of the invite along with a comment saying, “I’m really not kidding. I promise.”

The professional Scott Stallings is likely relieved to finally receive his invite, and he’ll have some time to prep for the tournament over the next few months. Something tells me the other Stallings won’t be going home empty handed, though, after reaching out to the golfer.
