South Carolina head coach Shane Beamer says he broke his foot after a frustrating loss to Florida. He reportedly kicked something after the game upon seeing the Gamecocks blow a 10-point fourth quarter lead.

Fans have been quick to troll the coach for losing control of his emotions, using his own words against him.

Beamer was apparently fuming after watching his team lose a game it let slip away. South Carolina led Florida 37-27 with around nine minutes left in regulation before completely collapsing to lose 41-39.

The Gamecocks allowed two late touchdowns, with the game-winner coming in the final minute of action to drop its third SEC contest.

On Tuesday, he revealed that he, too, was included on the Week 8 injury report.

“It was after the game, and certainly that was a gut wrenching and emotional loss,” Beamer said. “I was frustrated, and I kicked something I shouldn’t have kicked. I thought I was OK, and then the adrenaline of the game wore off.”

He wasn’t the only person upset with the crushing loss.

Fans raced to social media after the game to blast the coaching staff for failing to adjust as Gators QB Graham Mertz continuously picked apart the Gamecocks’ secondary.

Mertz threw for a career-high 423 yards, connecting 10 times with wideout Ricky Pearsall, who the defense continued to cover with a safety rather than a cornerback.

Beamer’s postgame comments were a topic of discussion as he seemed to push blame onto the players as opposed to his coaches.

The head coach seemed a bit testy in that postgame interview, which is somewhat expected following such a brutal defeat. Unfortunately, it’s become a theme in his South Carolina tenure.

Fans troll ’emotional’ Shane Beamer after breaking his foot.

Beamer’s postgame comments have been critiqued a number of times, both following wins and losses. He often shows high emotion after the ups, while getting a little sassy after those downs.

In previous losses to Georgia, he’s gotten short with reporters, rattling off sarcastic responses as to why his team was blown out by the Bulldogs.

After a 2021 win over East Carolina, he broke down in tears.

This, after saying when he was hired that he wouldn’t be “on an emotional roller coaster as a head coach.”

One social media user put together a clip of those instances, and many more, to troll Beamer online.

Brutal insult to (literal) injury for the coach.
