Shane Beamer Got Absolutely Roasted By His 10-Year-Old Son Over South Carolina’s Abysmal Record

Shane Beamer has served as the head football coach at South Carolina since 2021, but his third season with the Gamecocks is shaping up to be his worst one yet. The skipper has been subjected to a ton of criticism after starting the year at 2-6, and his own son hasn’t been shy about letting his dad know he has plenty of work to do.

The University of South Carolina had to know it was taking a bit of a risk when it hired Shane Beamer to fill the void that was created when Will Muschamp was dismissed toward the end of a disappointing campaign in 2020.

Beamer had previously spent a couple of decades serving as an assistant coach in varying capacities for a number of notable college football programs (including Georgia and Oklahoma), but it remained to be seen if the son of legendary Virginia Tech coach Frank Beamer had what it took to helm his own team.

He managed to hold his own in his first couple of seasons in Columbia, as the Gamecocks finished with a 7-6 record and a win in the Mayo Bowl in his inaugural outing and improved to 8-5 in 2022 (which included wins over #5 Tennessee and #8 Clemson in back-to-back weeks).

Unfortunately, the team is 2-6 as it gears up for what should be an easy matchup with Jacksonville State on Saturday, and while Beamer could’ve been forgiven for taking a little bit of time off to attend the Halloween parade that was held at the school his son Hunter attends on Tuesday, he didn’t even get an invite due to his lackluster performance so far.

Beamer held a press conference where he said he had no problem with people who’ve called him out for failing to live up to expectations while revealing he shares a home with one of his fiercest critics, saying:

“I can take criticism because I get it from my own family.

I leave in the mornings before my wife and kids even wake up. I Facetime my wife and kids every morning at 7:30 on their way to school, and today they were telling me that Hunter, my son, has a Halloween parade at his school…

I was there for it last year because it was on a Monday. My wife was telling me that he had that today and I said, ‘Why didn’t you guys tell me anything about it?’ Emily said, ‘I knew you had practice and meetings, and I didn’t think you would be able to come.’

Then Hunter, my son, said, ‘It’s because you’re 2-6 and need to be in the office working.”

Boom roasted.
