Shannon Sharpe And Dez Bryant Get Into Argument Over Marvin Harrison Jr. Draft Decision

Marvin Harrison Jr. is one of the top prospects in the 2024 NFL Draft.

There’s just one problem.

Harrison Jr. hasn’t officially declared for the 2024 NFL Draft yet. And former NFL superstars Shannon Sharpe and Dez Bryant have differing opinions on whether or not he should.

NFL Insider Christian Williams recently reported that Ohio State is using significant NIL deals to lure Harrison Jr. and star running back TreVeyon Henderson back to Columbus for one more season.

Henderson has already stated his intent to return and Harrison Jr. has stated that he’s open to the idea.

But doing so would likely mean leaving a lot of money on the table.

Bryant, a three-time Pro Bowl wide receiver for the Dallas Cowboys, suggested Harrison Jr. return to school because “college football is more fun than the NFL these days.”

But Sharpe didn’t exactly see things the same way.

NIL ain’t guaranteeing 20-30 mil,” he tweeted. “Stop telling these kids this non sense. Risk factor is 2 gr8.”

CBS Sports currently projects Harrison as the No. 2 overall pick if he enters the draft.. That would put him in line for a contract worth close to $40 million over the course of the next four years.

On3 Sports currently lists Bronny James as the highest-valued college athlete from an NIL perspective at $5.9. million. Harrison Jr. checks in at No. 13 with a projected value of $1.3 million.

While those values are largely guesswork, it’s hard to imagine Harrison Jr. exceeding that projection by enough of a margin that he wouldn’t be leaving millions and millions of dollars on the table.

Now, if Harrison Jr. wants to come back solely to try and win a national championship, who are we to say otherwise?

But from a sheer financial perspective, it would seem pretty silly not to enter the draft.
