Shedeur Sanders Looks Silly After Promoting NIL Merch During Embarrassing Loss, Still Makes America Money

Shedeur Sanders is the biggest brand in college football at the current moment. Colorado’s first-year quarterback is a household name. Although he may not be as highly-touted as Caleb Williams in terms of NFL Draft stock, Shedeur is projected to be a first-round pick and continues to grab headlines with his big arm and even bigger personality.

The 21-year-old son of Deion Sanders called his opponents “h-es” prior to the Colorado State game and then put on sunglasses to troll the Rams in a bold interview after the win. He did his dad’s dance after scoring on Nebraska.

Shedeur’s watch flex celebration has reached professional sports. His father (not-so jokingly) joked that he can’t keep doing ‘The Shedeur’ for free, and lobbied for a watch deal. Oregon fans threw it right back in his face during the loss. Shedeur immediately ran over to the student section (which had been ruthless toward him all night) after beating Arizona State and did his signature celebration in their faces.

All of this goes to say that Colorado is constantly in the spotlight. Shedeur, as the quarterback and son of Coach Prime, is the face of the program.

He is a national brand— and looks awfully silly on Saturday morning.

The Buffaloes were up 29-0 over the Stanford Cardinal at halftime on Friday night. Around the same time, two separate posts went up on Shedeur’s Instagram story to promote his NIL merchandise.

The first post was live at about 10:00 p.m. MT.

The second post was live shortly thereafter.

Colorado went into the locker room with a 29-point lead. It went on to give up 36 points in the second half while only scoring seven and lost 46-43 in double overtime at home.

Meanwhile, Shedeur’s Instagram posts remain live. Perhaps he, or whomever posted on his behalf, jumped the gun a little bit? Maybe he or she should have waited until the game went final?

That’s a tough look…

Shedeur Sanders still made bettors money!

Although the Buffaloes lost and Shedeur made a big mistake with his Instagram story, he still finished with a strong stat line. Stanford players threw his watch celebration right back in his face after a terrible interception that cost Colorado the game, but 33-of-48 completions for 400 yards and five touchdowns with one pick is still a pretty solid night.

And he made sports bettors a lot of money in the process.

99% of bets at BetMGM were placed on: Shedeur Sanders OVER 2.5 passing touchdowns. He doubled that total up and the bet cashed.

Unfortunately for Shedeur and the Buffaloes, they don’t care if the bets hit. They suffered a historic choke job and now have to face the heat for promoting merchandise on Instagram before blowing a massive lead in the second half. Yeesh.
